The Ethicon® PDS™ II Polydioxanone Suture is a sterile, synthetic, absorbable monofilament suture designed to provide extended wound support with predictable absorption. This configuration features a 2-0 suture size paired with an SH (½-circle taper) needle, making it well-suited for soft tissue approximation where prolonged tensile strength is required.

PDS™ II sutures retain significant tensile strength during the critical healing period and undergo absorption via hydrolysis, minimizing tissue reaction. The monofilament construction allows for smooth passage through tissue and reduces the risk of bacterial harboring compared to braided sutures.
